For over twenty-seven years, I have been teaching English for Business to Top Management Personnel and Senior Executives of Multinational and International Companies to take part in international mergers, takeovers, negotiations, EU Conferences and presentations. I have taught English for specific purposes on a one-to-one basis or in a group. These courses include Human Resources Management, MBO systems, Legal English and Marketing, Strategic Planning, Decision-Making, Time Management, Goal-Setting, Motivation, Finance, Banking and the like. I offer support to students by ensuring that their company reports, presentations and websites are accurate and appropriate. I prepare students for the TOEFL IBT Exam, TOEIC, IELTS, BEC, BULAT and GMAT Exams. I have also trained teachers and offered back-up support.
I am not only an English teacher but I also look back on many years in top management. As a General Manager I ran three companies both locally and abroad. This included attending conferences, participating in exhibitions, negotiating with suppliers and increasing our market share, both locally and abroad. I reported to the Board and took part in a number of Board meetings. Before that I reorganised and ran a computer company which was part of the Group of Companies.
As a Marketing Manager I targeted local companies that were working on a manual accounting system. I offered our clients advisory services on the type of customised software package they should introduce. I also trained their staff and prepared the system users’ manual. As a Credit and Liability officer with Toronto Dominion International Bank Toronto, Canada, I was responsible for the running of the Credit Administration department of the International Centre. This included credit reviews, bad risk loans, rollovers, Certificates of Deposits, interest rate swaps and cross-currency swaps. I managed rollovers when the bank was the managing bank.
